If I lived in a slightly more metropolitan area, where people didn't wonder what moon you came from if you dress nicely, I would dress in this style. It's perfect for those little waists and big curvy hips, and oh so feminine.
But seriously, your recreating this? I can't even begin to imagine having the technical know hows to create something like that.
Hi mama! Yes, I am recreating these garments. Part of my class this semester is figuring out how to drape a garment from a photo. Challenging stuff, but so fun! I'll post progress photos, I'm curious how I am going to do it myself! ;-)
ha! tangobaby, let me figure this one out, and then we can talk about my making one for your natural gorgeous self! My model already has dibs on the project, in fact, I think she drooled a little when I showed her the image.... ;-)
Looks like I chose the right era and silhouette! ha! Being 5'7 myself and a true hourglass (which is why I HATE high waisted pants, they make me look preggers), I totally get where you are coming from Johanna! So let's see One for TangoBaby (who has no need of a diet FYI)... One for Johanna.... Maybe one for Mama when she is not in her home town.... any others? ;-)

Good for you! I know your creation with turn out so beautifully!

My model is 5'3, and a curvy size 6-ish - she has the perfect 50's body.
I knew you would appreciate my taste choice! ;-)
Oh Goodness! That is gorgeous.

I am going to lose 20 pounds or get a corset, or both. And then will you make me one? I already have the shoes.

I am seriously going on a diet then!
Um, will you recreate one for a 5'7" gal? I was born in the wrong era and today's clothes just don't do me justice :-)

This is gorgeous! I went looking for a taffeta to make a skirt, having a desire to emphasize the waistline.
Can't wait to see it! Ooooo.

Me! *waving hand frantically and making "oh! oh!" sounds*
;)
It really is a fantastic outfit and when I look at photos like those - it makes me think I was so born in the wrong era.
Aaaah! I want that blouse. It will look good on me. I am not so sure about the skirt (for me), but it is beautiful.
Want. This. Now.
