My birthday dance

I had my very first birthday dance last night!! It was a riot and a ton of fun. Sorin taped it, and had others helped when he danced with me. Here it is - the milonga was at the Brookline Tai Chi Center, which has a fantastic floor and space.

So Nice, Deb!!!

I have to make sure that I get my own Birthday dance on my next birthday; I had to miss it the last couple of times, for different reasons...

However, watching your video, I'm a bit puzzled as to why are other couples dancing at the same time? In my hometown, usually everyone stops and watches during a birthday dance, to play compliments to the Birthday dancer, but perhaps in other places the practice is different? (Or maybe these were just clueless couples who didn't know?)

You most certainly must have a birthday dance! They are so much fun! The other couples dancing are actually other birthday people, there were 5 of us celebrating our birthday, so there were 5 simultaneous birthday dances, made it even more fun! :-)

Wow, Boston looks like it has some good dancers! I think I'll have to make a trip over some day.

You looked like you were having a lot of fun, by the way, and hey - nice dancing! ;-)

Happy Birthday again...

I loved how the guys were running up to take their turns with you. What fun! I'm glad you have it recorded to enjoy for a long time to come.

What a lovely moment to have captured on video. Alas my computer is without sound (totally on its last legs), so I had to watch you dancing without music but I still really enjoyed it. Thanks for sharing with the world!

Happy belated birthday. You birthday must be close to mine. ;)

I didn't know they did partner-switching birthday dances in the tango world! For some silly reason, I thought that was just a swing thing.
